GUIDE TO REPLACE WASHING MACHINE TAPS

PREPARATION
Active plumbing, plumbers will turn off the main water supply for your house or apartment. Before beginning any work on a washing machine or any other appliance, be certain that all power to the machine is turned off. Either unplug the washing machine or turn off the power at the circuit where the washing machine is connected. Position the washing machine away from the wall or anything located behind it so you can access the tap.
REPLACING A WASHING MACHINE WATER TAP
While the process can vary slightly from model to model let alone between different manufacturers, the same principle applies almost universally. Only a handful of washing machines will vary greatly from the process outline here although the mounting points of the tap, the number and kind of connections and so on could be different. Sometimes we may need to, pull the washing machine out to get to the taps. However most taps will be mounted on the back wall near or above the washing machine.
Once that’s finished, we need to unscrew the fill hose at the washing machine, it is recommended to place a bucket or similar and a few old towels nearby since there will be residual water in the fill hose that will get out. Afterwards, take the lid off the washing machine.
Next, you need to release the water tap to allow us to replace it. By unscrewing it anti clock wise being very careful not to damage any of the pipes inside of the wall .We may also need to support the recess lugged elbow to prevent it from twisting in the wall. We need to make sure that we take some time to examine the connection and work out the best way to remove the taps. After that, we may have to replace the cover plates as they can become damaged during removal of the washing machine taps, these taps can be very tight. So we don’t force them off because it can damage the pipes. .
To install the new washing machine tap, we just reverse the process above and then check if the washing machine is once again working after were done also check for any leaks.
